Melikgazi Municipality is removing abandoned structures that spoil the aesthetics of the district and threaten the safety of citizens.

By removing abandoned structures that pose a risk and cause environmental pollution, the district's appearance is beautified and a safe, peaceful environment is provided for citizens.

Melikgazi Municipality will demolish and rehabilitate approximately 100 abandoned and shanty structures in 2025, while continuing to monitor approximately 70 structures. In Melikgazi, a total of 2523 structures have undergone abandoned structure procedures within 6 years.

Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu stated that they have increased the well-being of the district by ensuring the safety of citizens through the work done, and said the following: “In Melikgazi, we do not have abandoned structures that threaten life and property and serve some evil purposes. We are removing abandoned structures so that our citizens can live in peace and security. We are carrying out great works both with the demands of our citizens and with our efforts to beautify the aesthetic structure of our district. The architectural structure and appearance of Melikgazi are very important. We are carrying out these works in many of our neighborhoods such as Tacettinveli, Gülük, Keykubat, Yıldırım Beyazıt, Kazım Karabekir, Battalgazi. We are transforming a large district with a population of 600,000 with our urban transformation works and new social We are striving to beautify the area with facilities, exemplary and original projects. These are important works that will increase the well-being of both our citizens and our district. Within our district boundaries, we have demolished and rehabilitated approximately 100 abandoned and shanty structures that threaten life and property safety in 2025, and we are continuing to monitor approximately 70 structures. Since the day we took office in Melikgazi, we have shown sensitivity on this issue and have taken action on a total of 2523 abandoned structures during this period. In addition to the findings of Melikgazi Municipality, we also intervene in structures that are the subject of incidents where the security forces intervene, and structures that have been forwarded by the commissions established in Melikgazi District Governorship and Kayseri Governorship.
