Mayor Palancıoğlu, who has enhanced the appearance of the district with urban renewal projects implemented in many parts of Melikgazi, commented on their new project to beautify the city centre, which will involve urban renewal works in Hunat and Cumhuriyet neighbourhoods. He said:

We will conduct urban renewal projects in Hunat and Cumhuriyet neighbourhoods. We had already started beautifying the city centre with Kazancılar Bazaar and Gön Han. We envision the city centre as a guest room. Since these are the most heavily used areas within the city, it is necessary for us to beautify them as much as possible. As part of this effort, with our project in the area where the Old Dedeman School was located, we demolished the concrete building that had reached the end of its lifespan and replaced it with a magnificent park, creating a vast green space in the heart of the city.

"We revitalized the Eski Nazmi Toker Building located here, turning it into a social centre where art workshops are held, various educational courses are offered, and exhibitions take place. Our project will be one of the most beautiful social centres in the city, serving as a vibrant hub for art workshops, educational courses, and concerts. Among our efforts to beautify the city centre, Gön Han was significant for us. Now, we are giving it a new purpose."

Immediately afterward, we are acquiring Vezir Han. Together with Gön Han, I believe this place will become the most important venue for cultural and social events in Kayseri. We will establish a connection between Gön Han and Kazancılar Bazaar. We will beautify the city centre as much as possible by touching upon it. Especially, this period, our priority will be the Hunat Neighbourhood. I wish our urban renewal projects in Hunat and Cumhuriyet Neighbourhoods a fruitful outcome for Melikgazi," said President Palancıoğlu. 

He also emphasized that they will continue to elevate the living standards of the citizens through urban renewal projects.
