Mayor of Melikgazi Dr.Mustafa Palancıoğlu attended the 43rd session of the Council of Europe Congress of Local and Regional Governments in Strasbourg, France.

         As a member of the European Union, Local and Regional Governments Commission, he stated that he both represents Turkey and will defend the country's interests by explaining them, Mayor of Melikgazi Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu said, "The 43rd Local and Regional Governments of the Council of Europe held in Strasbourg, France. I am attending the General Assembly as a representative of our country. Here we will discuss the interests of our country and support the issues of our country. We have been representing our country in the best way in the National Delegation of Turkey in the Council of the EU since 2014.  I attended the reception given by Ambassador Kaan Esener, Permanent Representative of Strasbourg, to the Turkish National Delegation. In addition, I participated in the coordination meeting of the Union of Municipalities of Turkey. I am trying to represent our country in the best way in the Council of Europe.  Council of Europe Local and Regional Governments 43. At this session of the General Assembly, the election of the general secretary of the Congress for a five-year term was held. Members will also discuss reports on regional identities, the impact of hate speech and fake news on the working conditions of local and regional elected representatives, smart cities and regions for a human rights-based governance approach. In addition, the war between Ukraine and Russia is the main agenda item of this general assembly. We try to represent our country in the best way in all sessions. Monday October 24, the 43rd started.
